Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and More Announced for Game Pass in August

Microsoft has unveiled the initial lineup of games for Game Pass, and subscribers can now play the Metroidvania platformer, “Rain World,” starting immediately. This game is accessible on consoles, personal computers, and through cloud gaming with Ultimate, Standard, and PC Game Pass subscriptions.

The standout new release is Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Starting August 7th, it can be played by Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This prequel to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features Basim in ninth-century Baghdad, as he becomes an Assassin. On August 12th, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, a cooperative shooter game, will be back in service, and rogue-lite city-builder 9 Kings will be accessible via Game Preview on August 14th.

Game Pass Standard members have exciting additions coming their way on August 6th, such as “Citizen Sleeper: Starward Vectory,” “Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders,” “MechWarrior 5: Clans,” and “Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap.” However, take note that three games will be leaving Game Pass on August 15th. If you wish to play them, do so now or grab them at a 20% discount by purchasing them.

  • Anthem (Console and PC via EA Play)
  • Farming Simulator 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Persona 3 Reload (Cloud, Console, and PC)

At Gamescom this year, Xbox is making a significant appearance, so you can anticipate the announcement of additional games for their Game Pass subscription service on August 20th and 21st. Keep an eye out for further news until that time.
