Assassin’s Creed Mirage Free DLC Released With New Update

Ubisoft has released a new free update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage that includes new story content. While the game originally launched in 2023, Ubisoft surprised players earlier this year by announcing this expansion to give them a reason to revisit AC Mirage. The update is now available and not only adds the new content, but also improves the game in other ways.

A major update, version 1.1.0, is now available for Assassin’s Creed Mirage on all platforms. The biggest addition is the “Valley of Memory” story expansion, which takes place before the main game. Players will follow Basim as he explores the new AlUla region. To begin the DLC, you’ll first need to start the “Head of the Snake” quest, which unlocks both the region and its new missions.

Beyond the new “Valley of Memory” content, the latest Assassin’s Creed Mirage update includes several improvements based on what players have been saying. Ubisoft has added more control options for parkour, new difficulty settings, and the ability to revisit completed missions. These additions are alongside other smaller refinements and fixes for bugs players have reported.

You can find a complete list of changes in the new Assassin’s Creed Mirage update in the patch notes below.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Update 1.1.0 Patch Notes

NEW STORY CONTENT: VALLEY OF MEMORY

A new adventure begins for Basim.

Before the main story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage concludes, players can experience the free story expansion, Valley of Memory. It starts with Basim discovering rumors that his father might still be alive. He teams up with his friend Dervis and travels to AlUla, a region filled with hidden secrets, ancient ruins, and beautiful oases.

NEW REGION: ALULA

Discover AlUla, a beautiful and historically rich destination that once thrived during the Abbasid Empire, a time when it connected many cultures. For centuries, this remarkable valley – largely forgotten until recently – was a vital part of the region’s story.

As a huge fan, I’ve always been captivated by how the world is split into two distinct areas. There’s the northern half, which everyone calls the Land of the Dead, and then the southern half, known as the Land of the Living. What’s really cool is that each area doesn’t just feel different thematically, but visually too – they both offer totally unique sights and experiences.

NEW WORLD ACTIVITIES

In addition to the main storyline, Valley of Memory features many hours of extra things to do in the game world, letting you explore the secrets of AlUla. You’ll find both returning activities like world events and contracts, as well as exciting new additions.

In the Stolen Goods activity, Basim needs to steal maps from robbers to find and retrieve lost valuables.

Oud Melodies is a side activity where you collect musical pieces by completing parkour challenges, similar to finding sea shanties in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Once you’ve collected them, Basim can play these melodies in different locations, giving you a relaxing moment during your adventure.

Players can still uncover more secrets and learn even more about the world’s rich history and stories.

FULL GAME IMPROVEMENTS

PARKOUR & CONTROLS IMPROVEMENTS

Free Jump

Mirage now lets you control jumps manually! You can turn this ‘free jump’ feature on or off in the game’s settings menu, giving you more control over how you move.

Back and Side Ejects

Basim can now perform side and back ejects even without a perfect landing spot or a clear handhold. You can enable or disable this new “Free” mode in the gameplay options. If you’d rather Basim always land safely, stick with the current “Safe” mode.

Control Presets

We’ve added a new control scheme to the gameplay options to make the controls feel smoother, particularly when using the Free Jump feature.

ANIMUS SEQUENCES (REPLAYABLE MISSIONS FEATURE)

Many players asked if they could replay missions, and we’re happy to announce that you can now do just that! All main missions and contracts are now replayable.

You can find these memories either in the “Animus Sequences” area of your investigation board, or by finding and interacting with Animus icons as you explore.

Once you finish a mission, you can replay it with new challenges. Completing these challenges earns you rewards, such as Animus Mods. These mods automatically restore your tools and Assassin Focus over time, but they only work while you’re in Animus Sequences or playing a New Game+.

NEW DIFFICULTY SETTINGS

We’ve added two new challenge levels to the game: Hardened Assassin and Ultimate Assassin. Each level also has a unique reward you can earn by finishing a permadeath run on that difficulty.

Hardened Assassin is a difficulty level that falls between the standard Assassin and the more challenging Master Assassin. It offers a similar level of challenge to the normal Assassin mode, but enemies have increased defense.

Ultimate Assassin is our newest, most challenging difficulty level, designed to give veteran players a fresh experience.

We’ve also included a new Custom Difficulty setting for players who want to personalize their gameplay experience.

TIER 3 TOOL UPGRADE

You can now upgrade your tools to level 3, unlocking new skills to help you overcome the challenges in the new downloadable content. Here’s what’s included:

  • Throwing Knives – Throwing Knives become explosive.
  • Smoke Bomb – Becomes a corrosive bomb that dissolves dead enemies, leaving no trace of them.
  • Blow Dart – Can now pierce even the most heavily armored enemies.
  • Noisemaker – Can now put enemies caught in the impact zone to sleep.
  • Traps – Can now cause enemies caught within their blast radius to enter berserk mode and attack their fellow guards.
