A new update, version 1.1.7, is now available for Assassin’s Creed Shadows just in time for the holidays! It’s downloadable now on PlayStation 5 and is about 4.5GB in size.
This update doesn’t drastically change the game’s open world, but it does deliver something players have been requesting for months: new animations for finishing off enemies.
Shadows is a very large game, and players often find themselves seeing the same combat moves repeatedly by the end. Update 1.1.7 introduces new finishing moves for all of Naoe and Yasuke’s weapons, adding some variety to the battles.
You can preview some of these new moves via Ubisoft’s video:
We suspect some of the animations come from previous Assassin’s Creed titles – or even For Honor, though we could be mistaken – but they should add welcome variety to combat.
In addition to new ways to complete levels, we’ve added a new puzzle called the Animus Rift and a new Project for players to work on. We’ve also fixed a number of bugs.
You can check out the full patch notes on the official Assassin’s Creed Shadows site.
