At the recent SimRacing Expo 2025, KUNOS Simulazioni announced that the Assetto Corsa series has sold a total of 20 million copies. According to Traxion, CEO Marco Massarutto stated this figure includes sales dating back to 2013, when the original Assetto Corsa was first released in Early Access.
Since the release of EVO last January, the Assetto Corsa series has attracted over 20 million players, which Massarutto called a fantastic achievement. He noted that while Assetto Corsa was originally designed as a realistic simulator for a small group of enthusiasts, its popularity has clearly expanded beyond that ‘niche’ audience.
The game’s success isn’t down to any single element like graphics or gameplay. It’s the way everything – the physics, visuals, sound, gameplay, and modding – all comes together. But most importantly, it’s thanks to the strong relationship we’ve built with the sim racing community. We established a foundation of trust, which allowed us to achieve what we have. We’re game developers, but first and foremost, we’re passionate sim racers ourselves.
Following the recent news about the racing game Assetto Corsa Rally, which is coming to PCs on November 13th, comes another announcement. The game will launch as an Early Access title, featuring ten officially licensed cars. Players can expect dynamic weather and day/night cycles that realistically affect how the cars handle and how well you can see the track.
When Assetto Corsa Rally launches, players will be able to drive 10 different cars, including the classic Lancia Stratos Gr.4 (1976), the Fiat 131 Abarth Gr.4 (1976), and the modern Peugeot 208 Rally4 (2020). The game will also feature rally stages in locations like Asace and Wales, with a total of 33 kilometers of roads recreated using laser scanning technology. Importantly, Assetto Corsa Rally uses the same highly-regarded physics engine that made the original Assetto Corsa so popular.
The game is set to feature a lot of content, including 30 unique cars, a complete career mode, and over 120 kilometers of roads built to look just like the real thing.
The company is still developing Assetto Corsa EVO, which has been available in Early Access since January. At SimRacing Expo 2025, Massarutto mentioned that the team is dedicated to delivering a game that meets the expectations of its fans.
Look, as someone who both makes and plays racing sims, I get how tough it is to build something like Assetto Corsa. But we always keep in mind what we want as racers – what feels good to drive. And honestly, right now is an awesome time to be into sim racing. With Assetto Corsa Rally and EVO, we’re finally delivering what players have been asking for.
We’re working hard to make EVO the best it can be by listening to and incorporating feedback from our community during the early access period. We’re thrilled that EVO and the new Assetto Corsa Rally are helping the franchise grow beyond our expectations.
