Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian ‘System Introduction’ trailer, screenshots

Koei Tecmo and Gust, the developers behind it, recently unveiled a fresh trailer and images for the game Atelier Ryzeriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian. This latest reveal gives us a glimpse into its unique gameplay mechanics.

Here are the latest details:

The development team has disclosed fresh insights about the connection between “Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy” and “Polar Night Liberator,” and “Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian.” These two games are collectively referred to as “A25” within the “Atelier” series. This means that the forthcoming title is a fresh addition to the series, not a spin-off or port. Although the two titles share the same universe and timeline, the upcoming “Atelier Resleriana” game takes place after the Weltex has been defeated, offering players an entirely new narrative set alongside “Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemist and the Polar Night Liberator.” In this new story, players will accompany Rias Eidreise and Slade Clauslyter on their adventures across the Lantarna continent.

During their journey, they’ll meet characters from previous “Atelier” games, including beloved alchemist Ryza and her friend Klaudia from the “Secret” series, as well as Ayesha Altugle from the “Dusk” series. These characters will work together with Rias and Slade to move the story forward. The two main characters will engage in turn-based battles against various adversaries, strategically determining the sequence of turns to maximize their team’s abilities. Players can activate “Multi-Actions” with supporting characters, allowing them to perform up to three actions consecutively. During multi-skill attacks, players can utilize items, and by chaining two or more together, they can trigger an “Item Mix,” which adds additional effects, offering a unique blend of item combinations.

When players engage their adversaries, they simultaneously build up the “Unity Meter.” This meter allows for various advantages based on the number of active “unities.” For instance, when two or more unities are activated, a unique “Unity Attack” is automatically initiated when two characters in the front row take turns. Once the “Unity Meter” is fully charged, players can deploy all five unities to activate a “Unity Burst,” during which all front-row characters receive multiple consecutive turns. As actions consume unities and the “Unity Meter” gradually decreases, the “Unity Attacks” become significantly more powerful, enabling players to inflict substantial damage on enemies!

In “Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian”, gamers can craft items by linking the “Gift Colors” of chosen components, giving the final item additional properties. Special ingredients, called “Catalyst Ingredients,” will enable players to create unique items. For instance, the “Altus” catalyst ingredient lets players predict the gift colors of the next component, while the “Iris Stone” catalyst ingredient alters the predetermined category of the following ingredient slot. Incorporating specific ingredients can cause a “Recipe Morph”, transforming the ongoing synthesis process, allowing gamers to generate new items. Collaborating with up to three teammates or fairies during the synthesis can result in items with even greater effects!

During their journey across Lantarna continent, adventurers will delve into the unpredictable “Varying Labyrinths,” where the layout shifts with each entry. Players get to choose the level of challenge in these mazes, affecting the types and positions of lootable ingredients, as well as the enemies they confront. The tougher the setting, the better the quality of rewards and resources. Additionally, players might meet fairies who offer helpful items or can be hired at the “Mistletoe Odds ‘n Ends” shop to help sell concocted goods.

The game titled “Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian” is set to release on September 26 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 (limited to Japan), Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
