Odicci Alexander-Bennett is embracing her most private home run.
The Bandits pitcher, famous for clinching the Athletes Unlimited Softball Championship in 2023, revealed that she and her husband Hakeem Bennett are expecting their first child, discussing her strategy to manage both her growing family and her ongoing softball campaign.
“Odicci chose to reveal her news during her second trimester because it felt like the perfect time, as she shared with PopSugar in an interview on August 12. Now, it’s about accepting this blessing, demonstrating the power behind her journey, and hopefully motivating others to trust their own pace.”
Surely, the 27-year-old revealed information about her pregnancy gradually. Initially, she disclosed the news on TikTok, dated July 31, where she casually displayed her baby bump in her team’s locker room with a playful touch.
“Baby Bennett is baking,” the softball champion wrote at the time, “and I can’t wait to see you.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’m delighted to share that, even though she didn’t disclose the details of her progress at the time, Odicci was already amassing victories on the field. Keep in mind that her team, the Bandits, kicked off their 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) season in early June and wrapped up on July 28, just two days before she announced her pregnancy.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I, too, am keeping up with my game, despite the challenges. I’ve found myself in the AUSL’s All Star Cup, a four-series tournament featuring 60 softball superstars, where we compete for top points. This exciting event runs until August 31.
Amidst this whirlwind of activity, I’m also prioritizing my wellbeing, especially during pregnancy. My goal is to ensure that this journey remains a safe and comfortable one for me and my baby.
She clarified to PopSugar, “I aimed to safeguard my tranquility and the room for me to carry on excelling. There’s often a great deal of external disturbance and expectation associated with being visible, but I understood what my body could accomplish.
With that strength in mind, she wanted to prove that she can keep her eye on the prize.
One common misunderstanding is that pregnancy equates to an inability to perform at a top level, implying fragility or limitations. However, pregnancy does not wipe out your strength or talent; instead, it might showcase the incredible power and versatility of your body.
