Fans can revisit the epic conclusion of Attack on Titan in Dolby Cinema starting January 9th, 2026, with a remastered version of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter – The Last Attack. Following the screening, Kamiya Hiroshi, the voice of Levi Ackerman, shared his thoughts on the series and his iconic character. Levi has been a fan favorite since his introduction in the first season, widely considered the strongest human soldier despite lacking Titan powers. This incredible strength comes from a combination of rigorous training, battlefield experience, and the unique abilities inherited from his Ackerman Clan.
Honestly, Levi’s more than just an incredibly strong fighter – that’s what really draws me to his character! He’s consistently been the rock for Eren and the whole Survey Corps, always making quick, smart calls when it really counts. And it’s easy to forget, but he’s been through so much – lost so many people in this awful world of Titans. Knowing how this series loves to break your heart with character deaths, I was constantly worried he’d be next, and I think a lot of fans felt the same way!
Levi’s Voice Actor Didn’t Expect Him to Survive Until The Attack on Titan Ending

Hiroshi recently told Mantan Web that he didn’t expect his character, Levi, to make it to the end of the story. He was particularly moved by the scene where Levi reveals the location of the sacrificed heart after the final battle.
He added that the action animation created by Imai Arifumi really captured the spirit of the project, and he particularly enjoyed working on the voice dubbing for that scene.
When asked if his feelings about the ending had evolved over time, Hiroshi explained that, having worked on the project for so long, he still valued his original, immediate reactions to it, and his perspective hadn’t changed.
He explained that over time, people experiencing the work in new eras might interpret it differently than those who originally saw it when it was created. He wants to continue observing it to see when those differences in understanding become noticeable.
Levi endured devastating injuries during the final war. He survived a direct hit from Zeke Yeager’s Thunder Spear, losing his right eye and fingers, and later lost his left leg when bitten by a Titan while fighting Eren. After the war ended, Levi lived with the painful memories and physical scars. He settled in Liberio, a city previously controlled by Marley, and helped rebuild the world. Despite needing a wheelchair, he dedicated himself to assisting other survivors, and surprisingly, formed a close connection with Gabi and Falco, who had been his enemies during the conflict.
