August 10th Will Be a Disappointing Day for One Piece Fans for One Reason

Fans of One Piece have much to anticipate on August 10th, which marks the second day of the self-named One PieceDay event. The festivities begin on August 9th at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, where the event officially commences. Day one is dedicated to the 7th annual One Piece Knowledge King Semi-Finals. August 10th promises to be even more exciting, with panels focusing on One Piece news and special presentations. Notable voice actors such as Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Ōtani (Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin), Katsuhisa Hōki (Jinbe), Reiko Takagi (Jewelry Bonney), and Hideyuki Hori (Bartholomew Kuma) will be present to conduct a live voice acting performance and share exclusive insights into the recording process.

Fans can stream both days of the event, and here are the links for each day’s stream. Both days promise exciting performances. Additionally, Episode 1139 of the One Piece anime will air on August 10th in JST, marking a continuation of the popular Egghead Island arc. However, unfortunately, there won’t be a new chapter of the One Piece manga in the week leading up to One Piece Day.

In this version, I’ve tried to make the language more conversational and easier to read by using “can” instead of “will be able to,” and “here are” instead of “with Day 1’s stream available here.” Additionally, I’ve added “unfortunately” to convey the disappointing news about the missing manga chapter.

The One Piece Manga Is Taking a Week Off for the Obon Festival

In simple terms, Chapter 1156 of the popular manga series “One Piece” marked its return after a two-week break, right in the midst of the Elbaph Arc. The previous chapter had briefly introduced Rocks D. Xebec, and this chapter delved deeper into his background, showcasing his daring actions such as challenging the World Government and recruiting crew members with Davy Jones’ Fights.

This chapter further expanded on Xebec’s adventures while also providing insights about the Kuja Pirates and Elbaph’s giants. The chapter concluded with Rocks announcing his ambitious plan to overthrow Mary Geoise and conquer the world, in search of two powerful Devil Fruits.

As I watch, the crowd seems to be hanging on every moment, as if each flashback brings them closer to the day of reckoning in God Valley. Readers can’t get enough about God Valley, with Kuma’s glimpse into the past at Egghead Island leaving them yearning for more details. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the storyline to delve into the God Valley Incident. Assuming the usual release schedule, a new chapter was due out on August 10th.

Despite the Obon Festival taking place in Japan between August 13th and August 16th, Shonen Jump will temporarily halt publication for a week. This break is to accommodate the festival, with new chapters resuming the following week. While this might be challenging for fans, especially those outside of Japan, it’s essential to remember that the staff at Shonen Jump, including One Piece author Eiichiro Oda, deserve time off to celebrate the holidays. On One Piece Day, fans can still anticipate exciting possibilities, such as potential clues for the upcoming live-action One Piece series on Netflix.
