Popular fantasy romance author Sarah J. Maas has revealed when she’ll be releasing the next two books in her A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Published starting in 2015, the series by Maas centers around Feyre Archeron, a nineteen-year-old hunter who is captured and taken to the magical world of Prythian.
Okay, so I was listening to the Call Her Daddy podcast last night, and Sarah J. Maas dropped some huge news for fans of her series! She said we can expect the sixth book on October 27th, 2026, and the seventh on January 12th, 2027. But get this – she also hinted that she’s already working on an eighth! Seriously, I’m already marking my calendar!
She clarified that this will be one story split into four parts across the three books.
She said the story she’d been working on was massive. By the end of the first part, it had already reached around 400 pages.
She explained that the story will be told in four parts: book six will be part one, books seven and three will form part two and three, and book eight will complete the story as part four.
Okay, so tackling this project, I quickly learned it wasn’t going to be a simple story. What started as a massive first installment turned into a four-part book, and honestly, parts two and three? They were epic in length. Let’s just say I put in some serious writing hours on those!

After being on a podcast, Sarah J. Maas excitedly announced on Instagram that she’s thrilled to share some big news: books six and seven in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series will be released in the next few months!
I understand how eager you’ve been for these stories, and how much these characters matter to you. I also believe they deserve to be crafted with care, not rushed by tight deadlines. They deserve my full attention and to be released when the time is right.
Let me tell you, as a critic, I’ve seen a lot of projects start small and then balloon out of control. But this author had a really interesting experience. She originally envisioned a single, contained novel, but the story just grew. It expanded so rapidly that she couldn’t bear to wait and release it in pieces – she needed to share the whole, evolving world with readers immediately! It’s a testament to how compelling the narrative became for her, and honestly, I’m intrigued.
Sarah J. Maas is a bestselling author known for her popular series, including Throne of Glass and Crescent City. She’s sold over 75 million books around the world.
