DC Collects John Ostrander’s Classic Suicide Squad Comics in New Omnibus

In a different, more modern take on Team Force X, which some might consider dispensable, John Ostrander’s “Suicide Squad” comics are absolutely essential. First appearing during the Silver Age of DC Comics in 1959, this government squad led by Col. Rick Flag was later reimagined by Ostrander following the Crisis on Infinite Earths. The “Suicide Squad” comic series, which began in 1987 as a spin-off from “Legends” #3 (with plotting by Ostrander, writing by Len Wein, and art by John Byrne), fundamentally changed the roster of villains serving time who were deemed disposable by the harsh program director Amanda Waller.

Paramount to Produce Devilina Movie Based on Obscure Comics Character

Paramount Pictures is working on a live-action movie version of the comic book character Devilina, owned by producer Steven Paul and published by Atlas Comics. Screenwriter Rebecca Webb, known for her work on Echo, will pen the script. The production will be handled by Steven Paul, Scott Karol from SP Media Group, and Jason Goodman, a relative of Marvel Comics co-founder Martin Goodman’s wife and cousin to Stan Lee. Atlas Comics boasts a wide range of characters spanning various genres.
