Robert Zemeckis is moving on from Back to the Future. For years, this filmmaker has maintained that there will be no fourth installment, reboot, or remake of the 1985 time-traveling comedy he created with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. However, in a recent interview, Zemeckis expressed an interest in revitalizing the franchise – by transitioning Back to the Future: The Musical from the stage to the silver screen.

2022 saw the release of Halloween Ends, which was marketed as the final confrontation between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. In this film, Michael’s body was thrown into a trash compactor, seemingly signaling the end of Jamie Lee Curtis’ portrayal of Laurie. However, with Halloween just passed, Curtis hinted at a possible comeback to the franchise, leaving the possibility open-ended with her statement “never say never.” She also fueled speculation by posting about a potential return on social media. As of now, there’s no official word on what’s next for the series, but Miramax has acquired the TV rights for it.
