‘Starfleet Academy’ Means ‘Star Trek’ Now Has More Modern Canon TV Shows Than Classic Ones

The latest chapter of Star Trek began with Star Trek: Discovery in 2017. Before that, the last Star Trek TV show was Enterprise, which ended in 2005. Although four Star Trek movies were released in the years between, the franchise is best known for its television series. Plus, three of those films were part of J.J. Abrams’ alternate timeline, making them somewhat separate from the main storyline. So, while Discovery marked the beginning of modern Star Trek, it wasn’t until 2026 that this new era exceeded the length of the original run, which started with The Original Series in 1966 and concluded with Enterprise.

Song of the Prairie for Xbox Series now available

Song of the Prairie was initially released on Steam for PC in Early Access on April 6, 2023. It then had a full release on July 31, 2024, and became available on PlayStation 5 on April 12, 2025. Developers announced plans to bring the game to Xbox Series and other consoles sometime after that.

Plus, Scott Adkins and Lina Esco are in it too! I’ve heard it’s directed by Joe Carnahan and people are already saying it’s super tense and the cast is amazing. Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 82% approval rating, which is awesome!

The Conjuring: First Communion Release Date Confirmed for 2027

Following the success of The Conjuring: Last Rites, which wrapped up Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s portrayal of Ed and Lorraine Warren and broke box office records, a prequel called First Communion has been announced. It’s scheduled to be released on September 10, 2027.
