For now, we’ve decided to look back over the last 25 years and choose the best movie from each year within its specific genre. We’ve intentionally excluded superhero films, as they deserve their own separate list.

The Korean-produced anime is set to launch this summer and has released a first-look trailer and poster, aiming to establish its own identity and appeal to fans awaiting the return of Solo Leveling.
James Gunn responded on Threads to questions about actor Elliot Page and his potential involvement in the DC Universe, stating he’s unsure why Page’s name is being brought up. Gunn also commented that he hasn’t seen evidence of the promised ‘riots’ some people were predicting. He added that he likes Grant Gustin. Page, known for roles in films like Juno and as Kitty Pryde in the X-Men series, was never rumored to be considered for the role of The Flash. Fans were thrilled to hear Krysten Ritter would return as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, following her three seasons on Netflix. Although a new Jessica Jones show on Disney+ hasn’t been confirmed, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum has stated that Ritter’s appearance in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will essentially relaunch her character within the Marvel Universe.

Look, I’m a huge George R.R. Martin fan, and I recently read his comments about the show adaptations. He admitted he has an ego, which, honestly, any creator would! What really struck me was his desire for faithfulness to his original work – he built this incredible world, Westeros, and naturally wants to be involved and have his vision respected. Apparently, Warner Bros. – who technically own the rights now – isn’t always giving him that. HBO’s Francesca Orsi has said they’ll consider his input, but ultimately do what they think is best for the show. It sounds like some of the changes they made with House of the Dragon didn’t sit well with him, and I can totally understand why – it’s his world, after all!

And it sounds like Dave Filoni’s movie might be too, now that he’s stepped into a leadership position at the studio. What’s really strange is that Kennedy didn’t mention New Jedi Order – the Rey movie – during her recent interview with Deadline when talking about projects in the works. You’d think a film starring Rey would be a huge priority, so her silence almost feels like confirmation of those rumors about where her story is headed.
