After 14 years from its initial release, we finally received the Netflix miniseries titled “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp“. Not only was it as good, but it surpassed the original movie.

The film titled Gladiator II was directed by Ridley Scott, following up on his 2000 historical epic Gladiator. As a result, the anticipation surrounding it was quite high. The movie managed to perform well at the box office and garnered positive reviews from critics as well. However, some people believe that the streaming viewership figures serve as a better gauge of a film’s popularity and mass appeal.

For almost three decades, fans who spent their childhood years following “X-Men: The Animated Series” could merely speculate about what the future might look like for Marvel’s mutants post “Graduation Day.” While blockbuster films and animated spin-offs such as “X-Men: Evolution” (2000) and “Wolverine and the X-Men” (2009) continued the mutant saga on both big and small screens, it wasn’t until 2024 that the series which shaped a generation’s perception of the X-Men resurfaced, much like a phoenix reborn, as “X-Men ’97”.

Over the years, I’ve found myself consistently attracted to the slasher subgenre due to its potential for creating suspenseful and chilling films on a modest budget. Regrettably, this aspect has resulted in an oversaturation of the genre for quite some time, with numerous slashers falling short of the fame their peers achieved, not because of any fault of their own. Consequently, we’ve been left with a treasure trove of undervalued and overlooked slasher masterpieces that truly deserve more acclaim than they received.
