Cartoon Network to Bring Back Classic Franchise That’s Found New Life

Starting in 2022, Cartoon Network has been celebrating April Fool’s Day with a special event called “Acme Fools,” showcasing classic Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. From 2023 to 2025, this included nine-hour marathons of popular series such as The Looney Tunes Show, New Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons Looniversity, and Bugs Bunny Builders. Next month, Acme Fools is returning with many of these same shows, plus the addition of Duck Dodgers, an action-comedy series featuring Daffy and Porky as space explorers. Given the continued popularity of Looney Tunes, it’s a smart move for Cartoon Network to build on that success.

Every Star Wars Animated Character Who’s Now Appeared in Live-Action

Lucasfilm has been successfully blending its existing characters in a way that both rewards longtime fans and introduces classic figures to new audiences. We can expect even more familiar faces in future projects. For example, the well-known character Rotta the Hutt will be featured in the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, and rumors suggest the dangerous assassin Asajj Ventress will appear in season two of Ahsoka. Even without considering these upcoming appearances, many characters who first appeared in animated Star Wars series have already made the jump to live-action.

The new issue of Empire magazine offers a preview of Spider-Noir, revealing a deeply affected Ben Reilly. This version of Spider-Man, nicknamed ‘The Spider,’ is a world-weary, cynical private detective operating in 1930s New York. He’s depicted as someone who drinks, smokes, and isn’t afraid to use harsh language—but he still has superpowers. Like previous Spider-Men, he’s also dealing with a significant personal tragedy.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’s Timeline Confirmed In Season 1 Finale

Okay, so the season one finale of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy finally clarifies when this series takes place in the timeline, and it’s a little different than I initially thought! Olatunde Osunsanmi directed the episode, and the story was crafted by Alex Kurtzman and Kirsten Beyer, based on an idea from Noga Landau and Gaia Violo. Honestly, it wraps things up nicely – we see Nus Braka (Paul Giamatti) finally get his comeuppance, and a lot of the main characters’ storylines get satisfying conclusions. It’s a really feel-good ending, which I appreciated.
