A new trailer for an upcoming SNK game, likely Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, revealed a mysterious anime character. The fighter saved two children from bullies and then used a signature move – touching an opponent’s forehead – reminiscent of Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. As a huge Batman fan, I’ve always loved seeing different takes on the character and imagining who could fill Bruce Wayne’s cowl. We’ve seen alternate futures with Dick Grayson as Batman, especially after the storyline where Bruce was presumed dead, but it felt like a lot of the Bat-Family never really got their moment. That all changed with DC K.O.: Knightfight. Basically, Bruce messed with something he shouldn’t have, and this entity called the Heart of Apokalips punished him by forcing him to live through realities where his ‘children’ – the various Robins and Bat-Family members – became Batman, and it wasn’t pretty. While the story really focuses on Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian, the Heart showed glimpses of almost all the young heroes as Batman, and it seriously got me thinking about ranking their costumes. It was a fascinating look at what could be!
