It starts off feeling really relaxed and fun, like a typical slice-of-life romance, but then builds to what is honestly the most incredible animation I’ve ever seen from them. It’s been out for streaming since December 9th, and the fanbase has been going wild, picking up on all sorts of little details. One thing a lot of people missed in theaters – and it’s so clever – is a subtle countdown sequence right before Denji and Reze’s big fight. It’s a brilliant way to build tension!
I’m really looking forward to the next seasons of those shows, but it feels like a long wait! I’ve been trying to find something to fill the gap, and while rewatching Yellowstone is tempting, I wanted to see what else was out there.
