35 Years Ago Today, The Simpsons Aired an Episode So Good That Matt Groening Called It His Favorite Ever

Can you believe it’s been 35 years?! On December 6th, 1990, The Simpsons gave us the incredible “Bart the Daredevil” episode. As a huge fan, I always think about that Season 2 episode – especially Homer’s attempt to jump the Springfield Gorge! It’s become one of the most memorable moments in the whole series, and it’s actually Matt Groening’s personal favorite too! He told Entertainment Weekly ten years into the show’s run that it was the episode for him, all because of that hilarious, iconic Homer fail.

‘Rick and Morty’ Is Leaving Netflix

As a huge animation fan, I’ve been following Rick and Morty since the beginning. It started as a little show on Adult Swim, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, but quickly blew up! Seriously, it’s become a massive hit for the network. The amazing part? They’ve already been renewed for twelve seasons – twelve! Season 8 actually just started airing earlier this year. And it’s not just popular with viewers, critics love it too; every season has a ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is pretty rare.

10 Mind-Bending Sci-Fi Shows That Challenge Your Perception of Reality

Sometimes, seemingly strange storylines in sci-fi shows eventually come together in a satisfying way, revealing a larger purpose (we’re hoping Severance will be a great example of this). When these shows are well-made, the oddness feels deliberate and ultimately leads to a conclusion that makes everything feel meaningful and justified.

9 Network TV Shows That Deserved More Seasons

With so many shows getting spin-offs or being brought back, it seems like nothing truly ends on television. However, these continuations rarely recapture the magic of the original series. Many promising shows didn’t get enough time to find their audience – even after a couple of seasons, they were still cut short.

This leads to a public on-air breakdown and a ten-year break from his career. Hoping to rebuild his life and reputation, Brockmire returns to announcing, taking a job with the minor league Morristown Frackers in a small, rundown town. His arrival stirs up complex emotions in Julia James, the team’s tough and often-drinking owner, and Charles, the intern who is both intimidated and motivated by Brockmire.

Stranger Things Season 5 Is Still Lying To Us About Will’s Powers (& This One Clue Proves It)

In the final season, Eleven takes matters into her own hands and enters the Upside Down to rescue Holly Wheeler, leaving her friends behind. Her timing is unfortunate, as Will Byers—the first victim of Vecna and a key figure in the show’s origins—unleashes a hidden power, destroying two Demogorgons. This display of power suggests there’s more to Will’s abilities than initially understood, and a subtle detail hints at a larger story.
