It’s been seven years since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on the Nintendo Switch. With its huge selection of characters and stages, the game has kept players engaged for almost a decade. Now, on its seventh anniversary, it’s a good time to remember what made Ultimate so popular – and understand why we haven’t heard about a new installment yet, likely due to the game’s incredible depth and content.
Netflix is getting a bunch of new content next week, but the biggest arrival is definitely Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The third movie in the popular Knives Out series premieres on Friday, December 12th, and brings back detective Benoit Blanc to solve another complicated mystery.
I absolutely love the Mission: Impossible films, but even with all the praise, it’s fun to notice little mistakes! Luckily, Brian De Palma’s film moves so fast and grabs you right away that you probably won’t even catch most of them. The slightly frustrating part? Five out of the seven errors I’ve found happen in just one scene, so be warned – it might ruin that part for you forever! Still, it doesn’t diminish how much I enjoy the whole series.

Both movies are leaving the streaming service on December 9th, so you only have a couple of days left to enjoy them. The films are known for being over-the-top and funny. The first one follows Brad (Will Ferrell), a kind-hearted stepdad, as he tries to bond with his wife’s children, only to have his confidence shaken by the return of their cool and capable ex-husband, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg). The sequel sees Brad and Dusty working together to create the perfect Christmas for their kids, but their newfound friendship is threatened when both of their fathers arrive and stir up trouble.
Scarlett Johansson is likely to star in the upcoming sequel, and sources suggest she’ll be playing a villain – a departure from her well-known heroic roles. After years playing Black Widow, a character many consider to be one of Earth’s greatest heroes (alongside another Avenger), this will be a fresh challenge for Johansson and an exciting twist for fans. Interestingly, the actor who plays that other Avenger is also reportedly being considered for a role in the same project.
Cryogenically freezing people after death is a popular trope in science fiction, but it’s rarely done in reality. A long-standing rumor claimed Walt Disney was frozen after his death, but that proved false. Recently, Simon Cowell discussed his own interest in cryopreservation with The New York Times.
