Many people in the gaming industry have shared their sadness over the loss, including Larry Hryb, known as Major Nelson and formerly the director of programming for Xbox Live. Based on the popular books by James Dashner, The Maze Runner movies—released in 2014, 2015, and 2018—have been available to stream on Netflix since October 2025. However, the entire trilogy—The Maze Runner, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and The Maze Runner: The Death Cure—will be removed from Netflix on January 9, 2026. Okay, so I just saw We Bury the Dead, and it’s a pretty intense ride. The film drops you right into post-apocalyptic Tasmania after a massive explosion wipes out everyone. Daisy Ridley plays Ava, a woman clinging to hope that her husband might have somehow survived. She signs on with a team going into the quarantine zone to collect bodies, hoping to find him. But, surprise, it’s not just corpses they’re dealing with. The zombies – and let me tell you, they’re not the slow, harmless kind the military claims – are evolving, becoming faster and much more aggressive. They’re genuinely creepy – chattering teeth, disturbing looks, the whole nine yards. But Ridley actually points out that it wasn’t just the scares that grabbed her; there’s something else going on with these creatures that’s surprisingly compelling.

The new show, Run Away, centers on Simon, a man whose life seems ideal – a happy family, successful career, and comfortable home. Everything changes when his oldest daughter, Paige, runs away. The story follows Simon as he searches for Paige and finally finds her struggling with drug addiction in a park, giving him a chance to bring her home. It promises to be a gripping and emotionally powerful series.

Even though 2025 was a fantastic year for anime films, some truly excellent movies didn’t get much recognition. One recent example quietly appeared on Netflix after a short time in theaters, and despite the lack of buzz, it’s a standout film that could easily be considered one of the best anime movies of the last ten years.

Marvel brought Chris Claremont, a beloved X-Men writer, back with the expectation that his return would significantly boost sales. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. While a small group of fans (including myself) enjoyed his 2000 run, Marvel decided to try a new approach in 2001 by bringing in Grant Morrison, who had recently moved from DC Comics. Morrison’s work launched ‘New X-Men,’ and it quickly became a critical success, largely thanks to the incredible three-part story that started it all: “E Is for Extinction.”

Daredevil will be sporting a new costume in the second season of Born Again. While fans are excited to see the classic D-D logo finally appear on the suit, the costume has other notable features. It’s significantly darker, designed to help Daredevil operate discreetly. This makes sense, as he’s currently being targeted by Wilson Fisk, who is now the Mayor of New York and a powerful crime boss. The all-black design is ideal for stealth and working in the shadows.
