Okay, so I was totally bummed when Stranger Things wrapped up – that finale definitely got people talking! Elizabeth Taylor was incredibly popular in the late 1950s. After being overlooked for an award for her performance in the 1956 film Giant, alongside James Dean, she starred in a string of successful movies – Raintree County, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Suddenly, Last Summer – receiving an Academy Award nomination for each. In 1959, she appeared with her husband, Eddie Fisher, in Butterfield 8, which I consider one of her less impressive films, but it finally earned her the Best Actress Oscar.

I was so thrilled to see her win the Mirrorball on Dancing With the Stars – she absolutely deserved it! And now, I can’t wait to watch her host I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in Australia. It’s amazing to see her continue to use her platform for good, and I’ll definitely be tuning in!

60 Years Ago, DC Launched a TV Show With an Awful Audience Test (But It Became a Success)

As a huge fan of classic TV, I was shocked to learn how close the 1966 Batman series came to never making it! Apparently, early test screenings were a disaster. ABC got some of the worst audience scores they’d ever seen, and a lot of executives thought the show would be a total flop. People just didn’t get the humor – it was too campy and colorful, and they didn’t realize it was meant to be a satire, thanks to producer William Dozier’s vision. But, because so much money had already been spent making it, the network was stuck with it, even though they feared it would be embarrassing!
