A few years after introducing the first Barbie doll with Down syndrome, the Fashionista line now includes dolls designed to represent how autistic people experience and interact with the world. Created with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), these dolls have unique features – including new facial and body structures, accessories, and clothing made from comfortable, sensory-friendly materials.
Today marks the 29th anniversary of a very special episode of The Simpsons. On January 12, 1997, the show aired “The Springfield Files,” which has become one of its most famous installments. This episode was a unique crossover with the popular show The X-Files, even featuring stars from that series as they investigated a possible alien sighting in Springfield. What made the episode so successful was that it perfectly blended the styles of both shows, keeping what fans loved about each one.
DreamWorks’ animated film Abominable, released in 2019, is now available to stream on Peacock. The movie tells the story of Yi, a teenage girl voiced by Chloe Bennet, who discovers a Yeti on her Shanghai apartment building. She and her friends, Jin and Peng, then go on an exciting adventure across China to help the Yeti return home, all while trying to stay one step ahead of a rich businessman and a persistent scientist who both want to capture him. Starring Channing Tatum, Terrence Howard, and Zuley Henoa, this film follows Shawn, a struggling hustler in New York City. When veteran con man Harvey Boarden recognizes Shawn’s natural talent for fighting, he sees a chance to make money and begins training him. Shawn quickly rises through the ranks of the bare-knuckle fighting world, defeating opponent after opponent. However, when he decides he wants to leave the dangerous circuit, he discovers his biggest challenge is yet to come.
It’s always been unclear what the original creators of Fallout think about where the series is going. However, a designer who worked on both the classic Fallout 2 and the acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas has now shared his opinion on the direction Bethesda, the makers of The Elder Scrolls, has taken with the franchise.

Released on January 12, 1996, the movie Bio-Dome is often cited as one of the worst films ever made. It was inspired by Biosphere 2, a real-life research facility, and starred Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin as two clueless guys who accidentally stumble into a sealed ecological system—a “bio-dome”—thinking it’s a mall. Although it made a decent amount of money when it came out, critics and audiences heavily disliked it – it currently has a 4% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its reputation as a terrible film, it’s worth considering after thirty years whether all the negativity is truly justified.
As a huge One Piece fan, I know a lot of us have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter! We had a bit of a wait over the holidays with Weekly Shonen Jump‘s break, but it looked like things were getting back on track. Unfortunately, Shueisha just announced that Chapter 1172 is going to be delayed – which means we’ll have to wait even longer to see what happens next, probably later this month. I saw the news over on X (formerly Twitter) thanks to @WSJ_manga, and it’s a bit of a bummer, but hopefully it’ll be worth the wait!
