Remake of Stephen King Sci-Fi Classic Projected to Set 2025 Box Office Record

Variety reports that The Running Man is expected to earn between $20 and $25 million in its opening weekend in the US and Canada. This would be the biggest opening weekend of any film starring King this year, surpassing the $14 million earned by The Monkey in February. It could also be director Edgar Wright’s biggest opening weekend yet, exceeding the $20.5 million debut of Baby Driver. Interestingly, projections for The Running Man are the same as those for another new release this week, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. Both films are aiming to knock Predator: Badlands off the top spot, where it recently broke box office records. Badlands is now predicted to earn $18-20 million in its second weekend.

7 Godzilla Crossovers We Need in Our Lives

A fight between the Xenomorphs and Godzilla would require some thought about their size difference, but the Alien series has tackled unusual challenges before. The franchise is currently enjoying a resurgence with recent installments like Alien: Covenant and Alien: Earth. Whether the battle takes place in space or on Earth, it would be incredibly dangerous for humans. The most exciting part of a crossover would likely be a fusion of Godzilla and a Xenomorph – a truly terrifying combination. It’s hard to imagine a scarier creature in fiction than what you’d get if these two monsters became one.
