Joffrey’s death at his wedding is a prime example of a widely shared, shocking moment, largely because everyone disliked the character so much. Some viewers might be disappointed to learn that the new A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series introduces a similarly unpleasant character from House Targaryen. This new villain, like Joffrey in Game of Thrones, eventually faces a fitting punishment. However, that scene won’t actually be shown in the series. Be warned: Spoilers follow for the Dunk and Egg novellas and the upcoming show.

The last week of January was packed with exciting new developments in DC Comics! We saw four main series titles, plus several tie-ins to DC K.O., featuring major events like Batman and Wonder Woman venturing into hell and Static’s long-awaited return to the main DC Universe. Before moving on to February, let’s recap the highlights from this week’s releases so you don’t miss a thing.

Though Wonder Man isn’t the typical action-packed superhero story audiences expect from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it still takes place in a world full of heroes, villains, and extraordinary abilities. The main character, Simon Williams, possesses powers he’s determined to hide. The Disney+ series doesn’t fully explain the origin of these powers, but it suggests that this version of the character might be revealed as a mutant.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Darren Aronofsky is teaming up with TIME magazine and Google DeepMind to create a new series for TIME‘s YouTube channel. Aronofsky will executive produce through his AI-focused production company, Primordial Soup. The series, titled On This Day… 1776, will explore important events from 1776 in short-form episodes, released on the 250th anniversary of each event.

The star of Traitors, who co-starred with Johnny Weir (who said it was difficult to look at him because he was so attractive), finds the talk about his looks on the Peacock reality show Love Island USA amusing and takes it all in good humor.

Kim Petras’s 2024 album, Brat, created a fun, energetic vibe for the summer, but her music has changed quite a bit since her earlier work, True Romance, from 2013.

In a recent interview with PlayStation Blog, director Koshi Nakanishi discussed the game’s central location, a sanatorium, and how the stories of the two playable characters will diverge. This is a common element in the series, but there’s a new twist: if one character defeats enemies in an area, those enemies will stay defeated for the other player as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the popular children’s franchise Thomas & Friends is being updated. Instead of starting with a new TV show, the reboot will focus on things like live events, new toys, and original stories. While the newly released picture shows Thomas still looks familiar – just with a fresh paint job – this update suggests we’ll likely see a lot more of the little blue engine in the future.

I’m so excited! Digital Eclipse just announced that The Disney Afternoon Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2 next month, on February 26th! It’s awesome because it includes the original six games, but they’re also adding Goof Troop and Bonkers! Those two were actually SNES games, released back in ’93 and ’94, so they weren’t on the NES. Basically, if you already have it on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, it’s the same collection, but now Switch fans get to enjoy Goof Troop and Bonkers too!
