As for the live-action comic book movies in 2025, this has been quite an eventful year, and we’re eager to find out which of the top two will claim the ultimate honor.

In recent times, the X-Men were the ultimate Marvel favorites, but their peak popularity has passed. Though they continue to be admired, comic books have significantly evolved since the X-Men’s prime in the ’80s and ’90s. However, Wolverine has retained his massive appeal throughout these changes. As of now, Wolverine headlines four ongoing series and is a cast member in Uncanny X-Men. In 2024, Wolverine celebrated his 50th anniversary, gracing numerous comic books-from continuing titles to miniseries. Wolverine’s sales have consistently been high, suggesting that he has outgrown the X-Men. Yet, this isn’t advantageous for Marvel due to multiple reasons.

In a nod of respect to Venom/Harry Osborn and the impressive portrayal in the 2023 sequel, it should be acknowledged that Marvel’s Spider-Man did not surpass it in every aspect. However, when it comes to the villain, Doctor Octopus (or Doc Ock), Insomniac Games truly shone. They largely based his origins on the comics, which proved to be incredibly effective. The narrative of working with a deteriorating Doctor Octavius, who is battling a disease and attempting to rectify it before eventually turning against Peter Parker/Spider-Man, is a masterclass in writing. This intricate development significantly enhances the final battle, the climactic reveal, the peak of tension, and the resolution, making them all that much more impactful.

In Godbreakers, players assume roles as resurrected humans, empowered by divine entities to vanquish the Monad – a malevolent AI threat. A unique feature of this game is the Godbreak mechanic, which enables players to seize enemy powers and retaliate with powerful strikes. Battles are dynamic, seamless, and crafted for multiple playthroughs, as players strategically evolve by assimilating abilities and synchronizing attacks.

In AUTARKIS, every moment is crucial. Establish settlements and gateways, safeguard your colonists from calamities, retrieve missing equipment, excavate resources, and prepare for launch to ensure escape. Players need to act quickly, strategize thoughtfully, and adapt to constantly shifting circumstances to secure the future of mankind.

If you’ve ever played the popular video game series, The Legend of Zelda, you might have spotted some delightful references to Nintendo’s other blockbuster franchise, Super Mario. For instance, in ‘A Link to the Past’, you can find an obvious image of Mario. In ‘Ocarina of Time’, there are paintings reminiscent of ‘Super Mario 64’. In the updated version, there are even recognizable green warp pipes. Characters Talon and Ingo seem to share some resemblance with Mario and Luigi. Perhaps most conspicuously, the Happy Mask Salesman in ‘Majora’s Mask’ carries a Mario mask.

In the animated series G Gundam, numerous memorable confrontations occur, with a majority of episodes showcasing intense close combat scenes. However, some battles can feel repetitive due to the main characters often employing similar moves. Despite this, there are seven extraordinary fights from the anime that truly shine, making the series a must-watch and earning it a spot among the most entertaining Shonen-style mecha series.
