No Time to Die’s Tragic Finale Broke a 59-Year-Old James Bond Rule Nobody Can Fix

Safin infected Bond’s loved ones, Madeleine and Mathilde Swann, with a technologically advanced virus called Heracles. This virus was designed to target specific people, meaning Bond couldn’t be near them without putting their lives in danger. His death was clearly shown, within the limits of a PG-13 rating, and now the future of the Bond series is uncertain.

Kindt feels this is a powerful dilemma with no easy answer, and he created the series to explore it.

Knowing McKinty’s work, which is seriously dark and twisty, that’s a pretty bold move, but I’m intrigued to see where he takes it!
