As a proud new mother to Colette Annalise McCaffrey, I’ve been reflecting on the joy and blessings that come from growing our family with my wonderful husband, Christian McCaffrey. At the start of season 2’s premiere of “Peacemaker”, the character Peacemaker (John Cena) attends an interview for the Justice League-like team, the Justice Gang. The panel conducting this interview consists of Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn). Despite their eagerness to be elsewhere, they offer a sneak peek about their organization. A key detail revealed is that the Justice Gang aims to minimize casualties, which might surprise viewers who remember them from “Superman”.
The anime skillfully blends contemporary happenings with remnants of yesteryears, resulting in a tale where two periods coexist simultaneously, which is what makes it so intriguing. Instead of following the story chronologically, we get glimpses of Frieren’s voyage with Himmel’s group that not only provide emotional depth but also influence her present choice to reconnect with Himmel’s spirit and delve deeper into him to alleviate her most profound regret. This narrative style enables viewers to experience the progression of time in a subtle yet poignant trip down memory lane, with Himmel serving as the focal point of these reminiscences. Upon rewatching the anime, these 10 flashbacks resonate much more deeply than on my initial viewing.

In the finale of “Peacemaker” Season 1, a new team was subtly introduced, with brief appearances by Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as The Flash. It also hinted at Henry Cavill’s Superman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, but those were different days for DC Universe. Since then, Cavill’s Superman reappeared only to vanish again, while “The Flash” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” didn’t do well at the box office. Later, Gunn and Safran took control of DC, aiming to redefine its direction. Interestingly, this new vision no longer involves the Justice League. In fact, “Peacemaker” Season 2 revised that scene and expunged the team from the DC Universe’s official storyline. Spoiler alert for Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 1.
The DC Universe currently boasts a number of well-known antagonists across its expansive narrative, such as Lex Luthor and the Engineer (from Superman), along with several characters from Creature Commandos. However, there’s still a plethora of iconic DC villains eagerly awaiting their turn in the limelight, with Gunn having previously tapped one for Peacemaker Season 2.

However, turning Bon Clay into live-action could prove more challenging than expected, as his character can be easily misinterpreted or seen as offensive at first glance due to certain aspects of his portrayal.
