Fans of the Alien comic book series have been deeply engaged in a wealth of history and lore that makes it clear the series is not just a science fiction horror story. In truth, much of what forms Alien: Earth’s base stems from the comics rather than movies.

The movie opens with James Sunderland, a resident of Irvine, waking up on a deserted road near the eerie town of Silent Hill. In the storyline, he is compelled to venture into this haunting town following a puzzling letter from his deceased lover Mary, portrayed by actress Anderson in the film. As he embarks on a quest to find her, he encounters grotesque beings and gradually uncovers a chilling secret that threatens to push him beyond the brink of his mental stability.

In this episode titled “Observation” from the show Alien: Earth (Episode 4), there’s a casual disclosure of a significant detail from the Alien universe that long-time fans have been eager to learn more about – the names of the five dominant corporations governing Earth.

In simpler terms, the story introduced various Lantern groups like the Sinestro Corps, Red Lanterns, Orange Lantern, Blue Lantern Corps, Star Sapphires (previously known but integrated into the Emotional Spectrum), and Indigo Tribe, along with the undead Black Lantern Corps, White Lanterns, sadness-fueled Lanterns, and more. This paved the way for the significant comic event titled “Blackest Night“, forever altering the Green Lantern universe. Although these multiple Lantern Corps brought about intriguing tales, they somewhat shifted the focus away from the original Green Lantern ideals. Over time, many have come to view the Emotional Spectrum and its Corps as a mistake, and it’s high time we acknowledged this collectively.
