Star Trek: Starfleet Command III is the last game in the Starfleet Command series, taking place in the 24th century. Players can choose to command ships from one of three major factions – the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, or the Federation – each with its own unique story-based missions. The Borg are also featured as downloadable content, but don’t fit into the main storyline. The game lets you control and upgrade starships using RPG elements, making it a well-loved title in that style. It was re-released in 2021 on GoG.com, meaning you can still enjoy this 2002 classic on today’s computers.

Seed Sparkle Labs announced today that their game, Starsand Island, will enter Early Access on February 11th. Players will first be able to access it on PC through Steam and via the Xbox Game Pass Preview program. The developers don’t plan for the Early Access period to last very long, and they are currently aiming for a full release of Starsand Island on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in the summer of 2026.

The company, a Japanese game developer known for the Trails and Ys games, has made a new announcement, though most people don’t think it has anything to do with those series.

Seed Sparkle Lab says they’ll use the Early Access phase to finish up the game’s content and polish the late-game experience before the official launch. The multiplayer feature won’t be ready until the full game is released.
