The Best Thing About Donkey Kong Bananza Isn’t Destroying Everything

One aspect that makes it stand out is its versatility in excelling at numerous aspects. The gameplay, design of levels, and technical elements are all top-notch, leading to an enjoyable experience. It’s no wonder, given these qualities. You can demolish almost anything, leaving behind a trail of destruction as you hunt for bananas, fossils, or other items. However, this destructive power is not the game’s most compelling feature.

The game shines due to its ability to handle multiple tasks exceptionally well. Its gameplay, level structure, and technical aspects are all excellent, resulting in a fun gaming experience. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. You can wreck almost anything, causing chaos while looking for bananas, fossils, or other collectibles. But what truly sets the game apart isn’t this destructive capability.

Splitgate 2 Dropped to Beta Status Amid 1047 Games Layoffs

1047 Games, famous for creating the “Splitgate” series (and nothing else as of now), is making some staff reductions and will be closing the servers for the initial “Splitgate” game this week in an effort to save money. However, they are investigating offline play possibilities for those who wish to continue enjoying the game. The studio did not disclose a specific number of employees affected by these changes in their statement.

Ubisoft hits 5 million with Assassin’s Creed Shadows — but what’s coming next has us guessing

The game Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been successful thus far, with additional downloadable content on the horizon, making it an appealing choice for both returning players and newcomers. However, one might wonder what Ubisoft has planned next as their release schedule appears relatively sparse compared to previous years.

A new addition to the Anno city-building series is scheduled for release in November, but other titles appear to be still under development. Ubisoft has numerous games in progress, such as The Division 3, a remake of Splinter Cell, several new Assassin’s Creed titles, a rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and more.

The next major Assassin’s Creed game is tentatively named Codename Hexe and is expected to deviate from the traditional large-scale role-playing format found in games like Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and Shadows.

An update for Massive Entertainment’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is also forthcoming, with a third-person mode planned for December to coincide with the release of the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash film.

In the interim, if you haven’t played it yet, my colleague Zachary Boddy reviewed Assassin’s Creed Shadows, praising it as a potential game-of-the-year contender for 2025, stating that “it retains my attention for more than 60 hours, let alone keeping me hooked for well over 100. Assassin’s Creed Shadows isn’t perfect, but I love it anyway.”

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (via Epic Games Store, Ubisoft, and Steam), PlayStation 5, and macOS.
