It appears that Sony is taking steps to safeguard one of its highly successful franchises, Horizon, which has emerged as a fan favorite from the PlayStation family over the last decade. The Horizon series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where technology from the future coexists with primitive times. In these games, players engage in battles against robot dinosaurs and explore verdant landscapes as the main character, Alloy – a young redheaded woman. To date, the first two installments have sold millions of copies, giving rise to a VR spin-off, a feature film, and rumors of a multiplayer Horizon game in development too.

During a special event at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, it was announced that Venom will soon don a new outfit reminiscent of Spider-Man. As reported by Popverse, this fresh look will make its debut in issue #252 of Venom, slated for release this fall. Notably, this costume update coincides with the year that Spider-Man first wore his black suit in 1984’s Amazing Spider-Man #252. However, this wasn’t just an ordinary costume; rather, it was the same black symbiote that Spider-Man initially encountered during the original Secret Wars.

It appears that Sony’s legal department believes that Light of Mirage has stepped over a boundary, and they are taking Tencent to court over what they consider a “faithful” copy of the Horizon series.
