The comic Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord takes place on Janix, a planet in the Mid Rim – the same area of the galaxy as worlds like Kashyyyk and Naboo. While Janix is new to Star Wars lore, it feels instantly recognizable. As a sprawling city with dark alleys, bright neon lights, and a criminal underworld hidden beneath its streets, Janix strongly resembles Coruscant. It’s easy to imagine the story unfolding on the galactic capital, and that seems intentional.

Unified Pictures revealed at WonderCon that they’re creating a 20-issue comic book series based on Vampire Hunter D. The comic will adapt the original novels by Hideyuki Kikuchi and Yoshitaka Amano, expanding on stories not yet fully explored in the animated films. The project is led by writer Brandon Easton (known for Iyanu) and artist Ryan Benjamin (Captain America, Batman), and Unified Pictures has shared a preview page offering a first look at the return of Vampire Hunter D.

After the release of Maul – Shadow Lord, the official Star Wars website published an article with interesting facts about its production. One detail revealed that Eeko-Dio Daki was nicknamed “Dino Jedi” while the show was being made, before his species was officially named the Mosyk. You can see the concept art for him below.

The game doesn’t have one big open world; it’s made up of many smaller ones—though only a handful are truly interesting to explore.
