Jason Aaron’s Absolute Superman has been a standout success, especially in how it builds a significant part of this larger shared universe. While Wonder Woman and Batman also explore this world, Absolute Superman delves much deeper. Despite juggling many different storylines, Aaron expertly incorporates the new mythology surrounding Shazam, and does it so well that it leaves readers eager for more. Fortunately, more Shazam stories are already planned.

Goat Simulator 3, the sequel to Goat Simulator, first came out in 2022 and immediately became popular for its funny opening sequence, which playfully copies the beginning of the game Skyrim. Since then, it’s been released on almost every gaming system, including a Nintendo Switch version in 2024. And today, April 1st, Coffee Stain Studios has launched an upgraded edition of Goat Simulator 3 specifically for the new Nintendo Switch 2. It’s no surprise they chose April Fool’s Day to release a game known for its humor on a new platform!

Many comic book movies don’t focus on traditional superheroes. Films like Ralph Bakshi’s Fritz the Cat, based on Robert Crumb’s work, and the 2012 film Dredd prove this. These movies often aren’t suitable for families, much like Robert Rodriguez’s 2005 film Sin City, which was adapted from Frank Miller’s comic books. Sin City features a large cast, including Jessica Alba and Bruce Willis, and is structured as three separate, but connected, stories. Its dark, unique style significantly impacted how comic book movies were made.

During a recent interview on Capital FM, Andrew Garfield discussed a scene from the Brand New Day trailer. He admitted he felt the scene felt forced, questioning the idea that there was room for additional characters when there was already so little space. When someone pointed out characters in the Hand seemed to be looking off-screen, Garfield jokingly responded that they were all still focused on Spider-Man, and that there’s always room for more characters in any shot of the film.
