In celebration of its second anniversary in December, Massive Entertainment has announced that their open-world PS5 game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, will include a third-person perspective mode and a New Game+ feature as updates.
Coinciding with the debut of the third film, “Avatar: Fire and Ash”, the Ubisoft team has refined animations, controls, sound, and camera systems to deliver a smooth and user-friendly experience when playing from a third-person perspective.
Here’s a taste of how it looks:
In the exciting world of New Game+, I’m thrilled to share that my hard-earned inventory, skills, and character advancements will persist into a fresh adventure! Starting 5th December 2025, I’ll be facing stronger foes and exploring an entirely new skill tree, all for free! Can’t wait to embark on this new journey!
Since its debut in 2023 for the PS5, the game has benefited from two DLC expansions and additional free updates that include a 40FPS mode on standard PS5 systems. Despite the publisher’s belief that microtransactions enhance gameplay, this is another testament to Ubisoft’s robust post-release support for their games.
In our review of Avatar for PS5, we gave it a rating of 8 out of 10. Despite some similarities to Ubisoft’s typical game structure, the game’s rich lore and emphasis on exploration and hunting transforms its open-world design into an engaging and welcoming environment that easily drew us in.
