Get ready! Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming, and we now know when it will be released.
The streaming service announced that the second season of the live-action series, based on the popular animated show, will premiere on June 25, 2026. They also offered a sneak peek, hinting that the stakes will be higher and things will get more perilous in the Earth Kingdom.
When Netflix announced the release date, they also shared a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the impressive physical sets built for Ba Sing Se and offering a look at the cast and crew at work.
I’m so excited about Avatar: The Last Airbender! It’s about this incredible kid named Aang, played by Gordon Cormier, who has to learn how to control water, earth, fire, and air. He’s basically the only one who can save the world from this really dangerous group called the Fire Nation and bring peace back to everyone.

The second season will feature several new characters, notably Toph Beifong (played by Miyako), a skilled earth-bending master who teaches Aang. However, their training isn’t always smooth, as they often disagree.
For season two, the show will have new leadership. Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani are taking over as showrunners, replacing Albert Kim.
According to Raisani, the first season aimed to introduce viewers to the main characters – children growing up during wartime.

Boylan hinted that the upcoming episodes will be more intense for Aang and his friends. The show has already finished filming its last season.

She explained that she loves how the second book in a series often explores darker themes. Because of this, she felt they shouldn’t hold back or take it easy – they needed to go all out and give it their everything.
We’re excited to reunite with the cast and explore the evolving, complex connections between the characters as the story unfolds in season two.
We’ll be revealing the actual locations that inspired famous scenes from the original story, and sharing some behind-the-scenes details that weren’t included in the animated version. Most of all, we’re excited to reunite the whole group!
