Fire and Water: Making the Avatar Films will be available to stream on Disney+ on November 7, 2025.
According to Variety, a new documentary will take viewers behind the scenes of the 2022 film *Avatar: The Way of Water*. In a recent interview with Beyond Noise, Rita Saldaña encouraged James Cameron to create a behind-the-scenes documentary about the Avatar films. She believes this would be a valuable opportunity to thoroughly explain why performance capture allows actors to deliver their most powerful performances.
The next Avatar film, titled ‘Fire and Ash,’ is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025, by 20th Century Studios. The movie features Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Jack Champion, Kate Winslet, Giovanni Ribisi, and other cast members.
