It appears that a significant setting from Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder won’t seem to appear in Marvel Studios’ eagerly awaited movie, Avengers: Doomsday. Filming for the next film in the hit franchise is now ongoing, with its planned theater debut on December 18, 2026.
What Thor location won’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday?
In a recent chat with Sunday Mail, Chris Hemsworth (a long-time Marvel actor) revealed during reminiscing about filming Infinity War and Endgame in Scotland, that there will be no more shooting of Avengers: Doomsday in Scotland. This might mean that New Asgard won’t make an appearance in the movie since the real fishing village in the Scottish Borders served as its set for filming.
Chris Hemsworth shared that filming The Avengers in Scotland was an incredible adventure. He doesn’t expect a return for Doomsday, but he yearns to revisit and work more in the country due to its extraordinary people. He finds the Highlands captivating and hopes to shoot another movie there someday, as it seems tailor-made for iconic battle scenes with breathtaking backdrops.
The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday is being helmed by the same directors as Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, from a script penned by Stephen McFeely. In this new installment, Academy Award-winner Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom. The star-studded cast also includes MCU veterans like Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Tenoch Mejia Huerta, Danny Ramirez, Simu Liu, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, and others. Notably, they were recently seen in Bahrain, suggesting that apart from Pinewood Studios in England, this sixth Avengers film will be shot in other locations as well.
