Avengers: Doomsday Leak Reveals First Look at New X-Men Costumes and More

Recent leaks offer a first glimpse at the costumes for the characters in the upcoming *Avengers: Doomsday*, including those returning from the X-Men. With Doctor Doom making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this being the first Avengers movie since *Endgame*, expectations are incredibly high. The film will also bring back many classic X-Men characters to wrap up the Multiverse Saga. While their exact roles are unknown, it seems likely their arrival will be tied to a universe collision – an event called an incursion.

As a critic, I’ve been impressed with how tightly Marvel kept details under wraps during production of *Avengers: Doomsday*. It was remarkable! But ironically, the celebratory wrap party seems to have sprung a few leaks. Makeup artist Gionvanna Ponci recently shared a photo on Instagram of a gift bag she received for her work on the film, and it’s revealing! The bag itself features a collage of character looks – think *The Brady Bunch* intro – and it definitely includes some of the X-Men heroes, giving us our first peek at their costumes and how they’ll appear in the movie.

Details from a leaked image show the X-Men heroes sporting costumes very true to their comic book origins. Cyclops has his classic blue and yellow suit with a red visor, Beast looks exactly as he does in the comics, and Mystique is wearing her iconic white and black outfit – a departure from her often revealing appearances in previous films. Nightcrawler will also be wearing a suit more faithful to the comics, rather than the trench coat from *X2*. While partially hidden by a label, it appears Magneto will be featured as well.

Most of the heroes in *Avengers: Doomsday* look pretty much the same as usual, though there are a few small changes to characters like Thor. The biggest differences are with Namor, who’s sporting his signature black vest with a popped collar, and a new, mysterious character. We also see that Franklin has grown up since *Fantastic Four: The First Steps* – which makes sense, since he was just a toddler in the after-credits scene of *Fantastic Four*, where he met Doctor Doom. It’s still unknown what role he’ll play in the story.

While this information appears to come from a reliable source, it’s best to be cautious. It could be inaccurate, or the designs might be different when the movie finally comes out. Marvel has altered character designs before, so nothing is final until the official release.

We don’t know yet when the first official trailer for *Avengers: Doomsday* will be released. Hopefully, it will debut in December, possibly with the release of *Avatar: Fire and Ash*. *The Odyssey* successfully used a trailer released a year before its film’s launch as a marketing tactic, and Marvel might do the same. Since *Doomsday*’s release was moved from May 2026 to December 2026, Marvel may have already been planning a trailer for December, giving fans a first glimpse alongside what’s expected to be a huge movie this year.

If things don’t work out with the current timeline, the next opportunity to promote the film would likely be in May 2026 with the release of *The Mandalorian and Grogu*. Starting marketing about six months beforehand would flow nicely into the release of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, which is scheduled for a couple of months later.
