Production on Marvel Studios’ film titled “Avengers: Doomsday,” helmed by directors Joe and Anthony Russo (popularly known as the Russo Brothers), is underway. The movie is slated for release in December 2026. Following this, a sequel named “Avengers: Secret Wars” will follow suit, premiering one year later.
What is the new Avengers: Doomsday update?
As per The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, Chris Hemsworth’s character, Thor, is set to play a significant role in Avengers: Doomsday, taking on a position often referred to as the “second lead”. This implies that Thor will have a substantial impact on the plot of the movie.
At present, it’s just a rumor that we should take with a grain of salt. The specifics about the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie are still tightly kept secrets.
Previously, it was thought that Pedro Pascal’s character Reed Richards would be leading the Avengers in Doomsday based on a statement made by director Matt Shakman to Variety. However, according to Pascal himself, Shakman’s comment was misconstrued as it was taken out of context when he spoke with Entertainment Weekly.
