I’m so excited for Avengers: Doomsday! Even though it doesn’t come out until later this year, Marvel has already started showing us little glimpses of what’s to come. Over the last month, they released four short teasers, each focusing on different heroes. It was amazing to see Captain America is back, and the X-Men finally look like they stepped right out of the comics! We even got hints of a really emotional story arc for Thor. But honestly, it’s the last teaser that has me completely hooked – it’s packed with mystery and makes me desperately want to know what happens next!
The first teaser for the Wakandans/Fantastic Four team-up is now available, featuring a meeting between Ben Grimm and characters like M’Baku and Shuri. The trailer quickly led to speculation, with some wondering if Marvel edited the footage to conceal important clues. An even bigger point of discussion is whether the new glimpse of Doomsday changes a significant event from what many consider the best Marvel movie of 2025.
Does the Avengers: Doomsday Wakanda Trailer Retcon Thunderbolts*?

The scene after the credits of Thunderbolts gives Marvel fans a lot to unpack. It takes place 14 months after the movie’s events and shows what’s happening with the New Avengers, who are currently in a legal battle with Sam Wilson and his Avengers team. More importantly, it heavily hints at the arrival of the Fantastic Four to the main Marvel cinematic universe (Earth-616) through a mysterious spacecraft from another dimension. Interestingly, this post-credits scene was filmed by Joe and Anthony Russo while they were working on Doomsday.
Initially, it looked like the New Avengers would be the first to meet the Fantastic Four when they arrived in a new dimension. This made sense, as both teams are associated with New York – the Fantastic Four from their reality, and the New Avengers from ours. It’s reasonable to think the Fantastic Four would head for a familiar New York when entering a different dimension. However, the latest teaser for Doomsday hints that it might actually be the Wakandans who greet the Fantastic Four. The teaser is short, so it’s hard to say for sure, but it’s still a possibility.
Seeing the Fantastic Four’s ship doesn’t automatically mean the New Avengers and the Fantastic Four will meet right away. The New Avengers only detect an unidentified ship entering Earth’s atmosphere – they don’t know where it’s going. Since Thunderbolts doesn’t reveal the Fantastic Four’s destination, they could be heading anywhere, not just New York. It’s possible they’re actually on their way to Wakanda and were simply detected by the New Avengers’ satellites as they passed. Plus, the post-credits scene in Fantastic Four: First Steps hinted that Doctor Doom kidnapped Franklin Richards, so the Fantastic Four might be chasing Doom, and Wakanda could be where he’s taken the child – potentially leading them to Earth-616.
Doctor Doom might travel to Wakanda because the nation is famous for its advanced technology and wealth. Some believe Doom is also kidnapping the children of Marvel’s most powerful heroes, and after capturing Franklin Richards, he could be after Prince Toussaint, the son of the late Black Panther, T’Challa. In a preview for the upcoming Wakanda story, Shuri says she’s lost everyone she cares about, which likely includes Toussaint. If Toussaint is still alive, he may have been kidnapped along with Franklin, potentially leading Shuri to join forces with the Fantastic Four to rescue them. Because so much of the story is still secret, there are many different ways it could go.
