LEGO Back to the Future Time Machine Set Is On Sale

LEGO released a detailed Back to the Future DeLorean time machine set back in 2022, modeled after the famous 1981 car from the movie series. Originally priced at $199.99, it’s currently available at Walmart for $170. The 1,872-piece set includes minifigures of Doc Brown and Marty McFly, and features working lights on the Flux Capacitor, gull-wing doors that open, tires that rotate for flight mode, and a dashboard with dates from the film. It also comes with a hoverboard and license plates that read “OUTATIME.” You can even build the DeLorean in three different configurations seen in the Back to the Future movies.
- The Original Time Machine: Add the lightning rod and plutonium chamber from the 1985 film.
- The Future is Here: You can add Mr. Fusion and the fold-down hover conversion tires featured in Part II.
- Back to the Ol’ West: Add whitewall tires and the hood-mounted circuit board from Part III.
Joe Lawandus, a senior vice president at Universal, shared his excitement about the collaboration with LEGO on this project. The set is packed with details fans of Back to the Future will appreciate, including references to all three movies, recognizable parts of the DeLorean Time Machine like the Mr. Fusion reactor, and miniature figures of Doc Brown and Marty McFly. He believes fans will really enjoy this trip back in time. For more news on collectibles, be sure to check out our Gear Page!
