Bad Bunny may be taking the bullet train to the Latin Grammy stage.
At 31 years old, Bad Bunny received the most nominations for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards, with a total of 12. His songs “Baile Inolvidable” and “DtMF” are both nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
As a huge fan, I was thrilled to see Bad Bunny – that’s Benito Antonio MartĂnez Ocasio, for those who don’t know – nominated for so many Latin Grammys! His album, *DebĂ Tirar MĂĄs Fotos* (which means ‘I Should Have Taken More Photos’), is up for Album of the Year, and it makes perfect sense. He’s actually talked about where that album title and feeling came from, and it’s really resonated with me – itâs all about appreciating the moments you have.
Bad Bunny recently told *The New York Times* that photos used to feel more meaningful. He explained that now, people take pictures of everything, and he doesnât always want to be in them. He might not be feeling his best, or he might question if the person asking for a photo is a genuine fan.
Bad Bunny may be taking the bullet train to the Latin Grammy stage.
Bad Bunny, age 31, received the most nominations for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards, with a total of 12. He has two songs-“Baile Inolvidable” and “DtMF”-both of which are nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
The Latin Recording Academy announced its nominees on September 17th, and rapper Benito Antonio MartĂnez Ocasio (known as Bad Bunny) is up for awards, including Album of the Year for his record *DebĂ Tirar MĂĄs Fotos*, which means “I Should Have Taken More Photos.” He has spoken before about the inspiration behind the album’s theme.
Bad Bunny recently told *The New York Times* that photos used to feel more meaningful. He explained that now, people take pictures of everything, and he doesnât always want to be in them. Sometimes heâs not feeling his best, and other times he questions if the person asking for a photo is a genuine fan.
He explained that he might have become accustomed to certain experiences, making them feel ordinary to him. However, he realized others might cherish those same moments, wanting to preserve them. That’s why he chose the title – it’s a reminder to value the people and experiences in your life.
More than just a catchy title, the album is a heartfelt tribute to his home country, Puerto Rico. He not only recorded it there, but also featured up-and-coming artists from the island.
Bad Bunny recently found himself questioning his purpose and what came next in his career. He realized that achievements like being a popular artist ultimately didn’t matter. This led him to a new goal: creating opportunities for young people to share the music and rhythms of Puerto Rico, believing that was a more meaningful legacy.
In addition to his own twelve nominations at the November 13th awards show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Ădgar Barrera, a frequent collaborator, received ten nominations – a remarkable achievement.
CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso are also nominated twice, for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, with their songs “El DĂa del Amigo” and “#Tetas.”
Besides Bad Bunny, Natalia Lafourcade and Karol G are also major contenders at the 2025 Latin Grammys, each with nominations for Record of the Year and multiple other awards. Shakira is also in the running, nominated for Best Pop Song for her hit “Soltera.”

As someone who keeps a close eye on the music scene, I’ve been really loving the energy coming out of Latin electronic music lately. If you’re looking for some incredible tracks, I highly recommend checking out these performances: Ela Minus with “QQQQ,” Imanbek & Taichu’s “Ella Quiere Techno,” the collaboration between Rawayana & Akapellah on “Veneka,” Boza & Elena Rose’s “Orion (Sistek Remix)”, and finally, the extended version of “Rulay en Dubai” by Mr. Pauer, Villa Electronika & DJ Polin. Trust me, these artists are pushing boundaries and creating some seriously captivating sounds!
Okay, seriously, can we talk about the BEST Urban music?! I’ve been completely obsessed with Bad Bunny’s ‘DtMF’ – it’s just…everything. And Alleh & Yorghaki’s ‘Capaz (Merengueton)’? Absolute fire! I’ve had it on repeat. Jay Wheeler’s ‘Roma’ is pure artistry, honestly. But then Tokischa and Nathy Peluso dropped ‘De Maravisha’ and completely blew my mind – the collaboration is *perfect*. And don’t even get me STARTED on W Sound featuring Beele & Ovy On The Drums with ‘La Plena (W Sound 05)’ – that track is just infectious. Seriously, this whole list is my everything right now!

Lenny TavĂĄrez’s “Brillar” is also fantastic, and you can’t go wrong with a classic like Nicky Jam’s “Dile a Ăl.” For something a bit more current, Rauw Alejandro’s “Baja Paâ AcĂĄ” with Alexis & Fido is super energetic, and if you want to throw it back to some iconic sounds, Yandel featuring Tego CalderĂłn’s “Reggaeton Malandro” is a must-listen. Trust me, these tracks are all fire!

Honestly, Big Soto and Eladio CarriĂłn’s “El Favorite de Mami” is just infectious, and I’ve also been really impressed with the lyrical depth of J Noa & Vakero’s “Sudor y Tinta.” And of course, Trueno’s “Fresh” is a must-listen – he consistently delivers amazing music!
