Get ready for a wave of nostalgia, as the BBC has announced that familiar faces from the cast will be back when the rebooted version of Balamory hits your TV screens in the coming year.
Last year, it was confirmed that our favorite series will come back for a minimum of two seasons. However, specifics about its plot and whether any of the initial cast members would reappear remained vague.
Good news for fans, the original actors – Julie Wilson Nimmo as Miss Hoolie, Andrew Agnew as PC Plum, Kim Tserkezie as Penny Pocket, and Juliet Cadzow as Edie McCredie – have confirmed they will be returning to their roles.
In 2026, you’ll find fresh episodes appearing on both CBeebies and iPlayer. These episodes bring together beloved figures and exciting new characters, offering preschoolers an enticing blend of tales, humor, melodies, and escapades that are sure to bring joy.
Introduced characters are scientist and inventor Ava Potts (portrayed by Danielle Jam), a veterinarian named Dr. Ollie (acted by Carl Spencer), who resides with his two kids, and the role of the Harbour Master is filled by William Andrews.

It’s delightful to observe some familiar faces coming back along with fresh ones, resulting in an ideal blend of nostalgia and novelty that families can savor jointly, according to Kate Morton, who heads commissioning 0-6 for BBC Children’s and Education.
“This vibrant new series will delight both children and the grown-ups who remember it fondly.”
The filming will occur in Glasgow as well as on site at Tobermory, the actual seaside town on Isle of Mull, which served as the inspiration for the original series’ beloved backdrop.
