Bang! Bang! Bandits – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition announced

Nippon Columbia is releasing Bang! Bang! Bandits – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition in Japan on March 19, 2026. The game will be available both as a physical copy and digitally for 6,300 yen (6,390 yen including tax). Players who already own the original Switch version can upgrade to this new edition with an “Upgrade Pack” for 500 yen (550 yen including tax).

Bang! Bang! Bandits first launched for Switch on November 28, 2024 in Japan.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will let up to four players enjoy a game together using just one game copy, thanks to a feature called GameShare. You can share games locally with both Switch 2 and original Switch consoles. Switch 2 owners can also share games online with each other using a feature called GameChat.

So, the update lets me choose how the game looks and runs. I can go for ‘Clear Mode’ which is super sharp at 4K and 60 frames per second, or I can pick ‘Smooth Mode’ for a really fluid experience at 1440p and 120 frames per second. It’s cool to have the option!

Here is an overview of the previously released Switch version:

About

Bang! Bang! Bandits is a fresh take on the classic shooting game. It’s designed to be fun and exciting for everyone, with easy-to-learn controls, colorful characters, and a simple world that players of all ages can enjoy.

Key Features

  • Simple Rules and Controls Enable Anyone to Play – Using the Joy-Con like a handgun, simply hold it in one hand, aim at the enemies on the screen, and shoot! With unlimited ammo, you can shoot endlessly and stress-free. Plus, since field movement is fully automatic, you can focus entirely on attacking. In addition, the rules are simple and straightforward—your score is based on the coins you collect by defeating enemies and destroying obstacles, so even young children can play with ease.
  • Packed with Fun Across 12 Stages and Two Leagues – The game features 12 distinct stages set in environments such as a jungle, city, ruins, and caves. After clearing all stages in the standard-difficulty “Normal League,” the max-difficulty “Wild League” awaits!
  • Unique Enemy Characters Wreak Havoc All Over the Screen – As you defeat enemies called “Goomins” that rain down on you one after another, make your way to the end of each stage, where a brutal boss awaits!
  • Enjoy Two Gameplay Styles with Challenge Mode and Battle Modes – In “Challenge Mode,” you start from lower-level stages and work your way up to the most difficult ones. You can play solo or in a team of two to four players, cooperating with family and friends to clear each stage. Additionally, two to four players can compete for the high score in “Single Battle” (individual play), or two teams of two players each can face off in “Team Battle.”
