BanG Dream! Confirms Two More Anime Projects on the Way

During Bandori! Summer Presentation 2025, Bushiroad’s BanG Dream! multimedia project, which started in 2015 as a manga and live-band initiative before evolving into the popular mobile rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, announced two significant new anime projects. These updates were also shared on the franchise’s official Twitter account, @bangdream_en.

The first project is a TV series continuation of BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!. The second is a movie titled Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast, focusing solely on the complex, dark narrative of the eponymous band. Both productions will be handled by SANZIGEN, with Kōdai Kakimoto returning as the director.

In the subsequent anime installment, we’ll delve straight into the narrative thread left by the earlier series, focusing on the strained relationships between MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica. Meanwhile, the Ave Mujica film will delve into the origins of the band, their internal disagreements, and the personal turmoil faced by leader Sakiko Togawa. Veteran voice talents Kanon Takao, Akane Yonezawa, and Yuzuki Watase will rejoin the cast, with confirmed new songs such as “KiLLKiSS” and “Georgette Me, Georgette You”. With production ongoing and sneak peeks unveiled, these ventures signal a progression towards complex, character-centric storytelling that seamlessly blends music performances with psychological narratives for BanG Dream!. This evolution reflects the appetite of fans yearning for more than mere sunshine idol stereotypes.

Sequel Anime Series Confirmed for MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica

After the last episode of the TV series Ave Mujica, it has been announced that a new sequel is being made. This upcoming series will further develop the narratives of MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica, two bands whose impact on the franchise has been significant due to their intense emotional portrayals and darker storylines. The sequel is anticipated to delve deeper into escalating conflicts, particularly concerning Sakiko Togawa and Anon Chihaya, who have played pivotal roles in shaping the stories told in the anime series thus far.

With SANZIGEN back in action for another installment, viewers can anticipate the continued delivery of top-notch animation and the brooding aesthetic they enjoyed in the initial seasons. As of now, no release date has been unveiled, but the team has subtly suggested a larger narrative that delves into the psychological impact of prior occurrences. Fans are abuzz with theories that this follow-up could introduce fresh characters or competing bands, enriching the intricate emotional journeys already established. Given the success of the first series, fans eagerly await a new storyline that skillfully blends musical expression with profound storytelling.

Ave Mujica Movie Announced: The Die is Cast

Apart from the sequel series, BanG Dream! has also unveiled a full-length anime movie called “Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast“. This film primarily revolves around Sakiko Togawa and her bandmates navigating through feelings of grief, aspiration, and self-discovery in a world devoid of comfort and deception.

After losing everything in one fateful night, Sakiko Togawa finds herself reaching towards a darker abyss, one that threatens to pull everyone close to her into its depths. Bringing together girls who are each dealing with their own struggles and dreams, Sakiko unveils a masterfully deceptive world. ‘Welcome to the realm of Ave Mujica.’

Going beyond just TV series and film updates, BanG Dream! has hinted at upcoming live performances and merchandise launches related to the bands. Japanese fans can anticipate special screenings, pop-up stores with thematic designs, and limited concert items adorned with Ave Mujica’s gothic style and MyGO!!!!!’s distinctive visuals. Although international fans might encounter delayed releases, BanG Dream! creators have indicated they are discussing global streaming options. With the franchise extending into various media such as stage plays, concerts, retail items, it appears that BanG Dream! is constructing a lasting ecosystem based on its more complex narratives.
