Barbarian Star’s New Longlegs Replacement Horror Movie Debuts With Rare 0% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Barbarian star Georgina Campbell’s new horror movie has achieved a rare feat, but not a good one.

The new horror film, Psycho Killer, has received a rare 0% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Written by Andrew Kevin Walker, the screenwriter of Seven, the movie centers on police officer Jane Archer (played by Campbell) and her pursuit of a serial killer nicknamed the Satanic Slasher (James Preston Rogers) after he murders her husband.

Rotten Tomatoes has just released the first scores for the new movie, Psycho Killer. Currently, critics have given it a 0% rating based on 15 reviews. Audiences don’t seem to like it much either, with an initial score of 34% from the first 50 ratings. It looks like both critics and viewers agree this movie isn’t a hit.

Critics generally found Psycho Killer to be lacking in a strong plot, with many noting that the story didn’t quite come together. This resulted in a film that wasn’t very scary or suspenseful, ultimately making it a dull experience for viewers, and diminishing its potential as a horror or thriller.

I have to admit, the reaction to the 2026 horror film was a bit unexpected, especially knowing who was involved. I’m a big fan of Georgina Campbell – she’s incredibly talented! She rightfully won Best Actress for her heartbreaking performance in Murdered by My Boyfriend back in 2014, and I thought she was fantastic in Barbarian too. It’s great to see her taking on new roles.

Beyond Seven, Walker has written several other successful films, including The Killer from 2023, directed by David Fincher. Gavin Polone, the director, is an Emmy nominee with six nominations earned through his work on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Psycho Killer marks his first time directing a film, a project he also produced.

Reviews for the new movie Psycho Killer have been largely unfavorable, and it hasn’t been widely advertised, even with well-known actors involved. Filming took place in 2023, during the Hollywood strikes, and it’s uncertain if those strikes impacted the movie’s production or quality.

Despite a talented cast and crew, Psycho Killer seems to be the first major horror disappointment of 2026. Critics haven’t found much to praise about the film, and it ultimately failed to deliver on its potential.

Psycho Killer is currently playing in theaters.
