Actor Alan Ritchson, who’s known for his work in DC productions such as Smallville and Titans (as Aquaman and Hawk), has recently discussed the prospect of portraying Batman within the DC Universe.
What was Alan Ritchson’s Batman update?
More recently, it’s come to light that James Gunn, one of the co-CEOs at DC Studios, expressed being a significant fan of actor Alan Ritchson, following persistent fan speculation about him portraying Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DC Universe. In an interview with Variety, Ritchson spoke about Gunn’s remarks, confirming that discussions concerning Batman have already taken place between him and the director known for Superman.
Indeed, James Gunn’s fandom isn’t just hearsay; he’s openly acknowledged it himself. And let me assure you, I share that fervor for Mr. Gunn. I wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression. There have been discussions about Batman between us,” Ritchson expressed.
Although the actor portraying Reacher mentioned he doubts taking on the role of Batman in the future, he expressed enthusiasm for potential future collaborations with DC Comics, hinting at a possible interest in another character instead.
Ritchson stated, “However, I firmly believe Batman isn’t part of my upcoming plans. Yet, I do anticipate some connection with DC in the future. And I hope this continues.
The film titled “The Brave and the Bold” will be helmed by director Andy Muschietti, who’s known for “The Flash”. This movie belongs to DC Universe’s collection named “Chapter One: Gods & Monsters”. The narrative primarily focuses on Bruce Wayne and his son Damian Wayne, who’s also known as Robin due to his association with the DC villain Talia al Ghul. There are rumors suggesting that Brandon Sklenar, famously known for his role in “It Ends With Us”, could potentially play Batman alongside Ritchson.
At the moment, it has no official release date yet.
