Batman and Daredevil have a lot in common. Both heroes use their inner anger and determination to protect their cities, and they’re incredibly skilled in martial arts. There’s even a running joke that they should switch names, since Daredevil’s heightened senses are similar to a bat’s! If you enjoy one of these characters, you’ll likely appreciate the other, which is why they’ve teamed up in comic books on two separate occasions.
These two team-up stories are definitely worth checking out, largely because of the fantastic villains involved. Batman and Daredevil are known for having some of the best villains in comics, and putting their enemies together creates really compelling storylines. Daredevil/Batman: Eye for an Eye featured Two-Face and Mr. Hyde, while Batman/Daredevil had Scarecrow and Kingpin. Scarecrow is arguably the ideal villain for this pairing, but he only appeared in one story. It’s a shame that Bullseye, who would have been a great addition, wasn’t featured at all.
Master of Fear Versus the Man Without Fear

As a huge fan of these characters, I’ve always loved how Daredevil earned the nickname “The Man Without Fear.” It’s not just a cool title – it really gets to the core of who Matt Murdock is, constantly facing and conquering his own anxieties. That’s why I think pairing him with Batman and Scarecrow is so brilliant. Batman and Scarecrow are locked in this cycle of using fear as a weapon, but Daredevil is different. He genuinely overcomes it. And honestly, when I think about Daredevil facing off against Scarecrow, it played out perfectly. It highlighted exactly what makes Daredevil unique – he doesn’t succumb to fear, he just…pushes through it.
Scarecrow went to New York City planning to release fear gas throughout the city, which quickly put him on a collision course with both Batman and Daredevil, and also angered the Kingpin. While Batman fought the Kingpin, Daredevil went after Scarecrow. Daredevil managed to subdue Scarecrow, but not before Scarecrow sprayed him with fear toxin, forcing Daredevil to relive his worst memories and confront his greatest fears. However, Daredevil, known as the Man Without Fear, simply laughed off the effects and defeated the villain, thoroughly frightening him in the process.
As seen in this encounter, Daredevil’s personality creates a compelling dynamic when paired with Scarecrow and Batman. Like Batman, Daredevil is driven by a strong sense of justice and fights crime in a similar way, but his willingness to confront fear directly is a striking contrast to Scarecrow’s tactics of psychological terror. This unexpected approach is always engaging. However, Scarecrow isn’t the only villain who would be a good match for this team.
Bullseye Is a Dead-On Pick

Bullseye, like Scarecrow, is a strong adversary for Batman, even if their motivations differ. He’s a highly skilled assassin with a special talent: perfect accuracy with any thrown object. This unique skill set would present a new kind of challenge for Batman, forcing him to adapt and overcome in a way fans would really enjoy.
Bullseye is the ultimate enemy for Daredevil, having inflicted more pain on him than anyone, even Wilson Fisk (the Kingpin). Like Batman, Daredevil is committed to not taking lives, but his battles with Bullseye consistently push him to his moral limits. A team-up between Daredevil and Batman could involve Batman intervening to prevent Daredevil from crossing a dangerous line, essentially saving Daredevil’s own morality alongside others’ lives. A showdown between Daredevil and Bullseye would be a powerful and memorable moment for both heroes, and would undoubtedly be an incredible fight to read.
Batman and Daredevil are both incredibly popular heroes who have a lot in common, making them a fantastic team when they cross over. Their team-ups are always really fun, and it would be amazing to see them face off against each other’s iconic villains – something many fans, including myself, would love to see.
