Get ready to create your own adventures in the world of Batman! In 2026, Enemies of Gotham City will be released, letting you play as the Dark Knight’s most notorious villains and unleash an unprecedented wave of crime upon Gotham.
Batman has seen countless interpretations, but many fans remain most connected to the version of the character from their childhood. For a lot of people, Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman, thanks to his iconic voice work in Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League, and his memorable performance in the Arkham video games.
Batman: Enemies of Gotham City Launches 2026
Okay, so get this – the Batman from the old 90s games is coming back, but with a twist! Instead of being Batman, we get to play as the villains! Upper Deck is releasing a game called Enemies of Gotham City later this year where you can run around as Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and Two-Face, basically causing chaos all over Gotham. The catch? We gotta avoid Batman and his crew while we’re at it. Sounds awesome, right?
The “Enemies of Gotham City” game includes miniature figures for playable characters and members of the Bat Family, plus 165 cards. Each villain has a unique game board detailing their abilities, and the cards drive the action as Batman gets closer to confronting them. All the artwork is inspired by or taken directly from “Batman: The Animated Series,” making it a perfect gift for fans of the show.
In Enemies of Gotham City, you aim to take control of different districts. These districts give you resources to recruit more Goons and earn Infamy – the key to winning. While Batman is powerful with his abilities and gadgets, the villains have their own tools to fight back, or make a quick getaway if things get tough.
Players Become Gotham’s Worst Villains (With Batman In Hot Pursuit)
The world of Gotham City’s villains is growing! Upper Deck is releasing the “Knight on the Town” expansion, adding four new characters to the game: The Riddler, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, and the Phantasm. Man-Bat and the Phantasm are unique “Lone Villains” who prefer to work alone. On the hero side, players can now use Officer Montoya and Detective Bullock to help bring the villains to justice.
I’ve played a ton of RPGs and video games, and they’re usually all about being the good guy. But Enemies of Gotham City is totally different! It lets you play as the villains – you get to be one of the classic bad guys, which is a really cool twist on the usual hero stuff.
