The beta for Battlefield 6 has arrived, and we’ve prepared a useful guide to help you choose the best weapons to use. With all the anticipation building around Battlefield 6, it’s shaping up to be one of the most significant releases this year. Initially, there was some skepticism due to troubling reports and a checkered past, but things have turned around, and players are now eagerly awaiting the game. The initial unveiling was very promising, and the reception for Battlefield 6 has been extremely positive. I spent approximately 8 hours playing Battlefield 6 in Los Angeles during the reveal event, and it’s been some of the most enjoyable first-person shooter (FPS) gaming experiences this generation for me.
Gamers can now test out the beta of Battlefield 6, and since I’ve had my share of experience with every weapon in this new game, I thought it would be helpful to share some insights with you. I’ve been killed by each one of these guns, with some claiming more lives than others. I can tell you what weapons are frustrating, which ones are too powerful, and what choices will help secure your victory. To cater to different playing styles, I’ve included a weapon for every type of player, so hopefully, you’ll find something that suits yours.
In the thrilling world of Battlefield 6, remember you’ve got the freedom to customize your gaming experience by swapping out guns across different classes, but each class has its preferred weapon, like sniper rifles for Recon or LMGs for Support. Going for the signature weapon in your chosen class can grant you some sweet bonuses, so don’t forget to consider this when crafting your loadout. You’ll notice these benefits if you take a peek at the overview for your signature weapons.
The 6 Best Guns to Use in the Battlefield 6 Beta
NVO-228E (Assault Rifle)
In Battlefield 6’s Assault class, I excelled with the NVO-228E – an AK-style weapon that offers exceptional accuracy at medium range. If you prefer to engage enemies from a distance, this could be your ideal firearm. Moreover, it provides several customizable attachments, enabling you to manage recoil or extend your ammo capacity as needed.
KTS100 MK8 (LMG)
In the game, this LMG functions like a laser beam with minimal recoil, causing some “Battlefield 6” enthusiasts to voice concerns about its online performance. Interestingly, this in-game weapon seems to mirror the real-life Ultimax 100, which is known for having negligible recoil. Contrary to typical expectations of a bulky gun that sprays and prays, this one stands out due to its precision when targeting enemies huddled in narrow corridors, making it an excellent choice if you’re looking to unleash a barrage of bullets.
This weapon isn’t just deadly in a dangerous way, but it serves a strategic purpose too: providing suppressing fire. When enemies are suppressed, they can’t heal themselves. This means they’ll stay put and hide while your team advances, allowing you to either finish them off or force them out with grenades.
M2010 ESR (Sniper Rifle)
In the ongoing Battlefield 6 beta, the M2010 ESR is the sole sniper rifle available, but if you’re seeking a semi-automatic rifle with some distance, there are Designated Marksman Rifles (DMRs) to consider instead. The M2010 ESR delivers quite a powerful blow, making it an instant kill when aimed at the head – a feat not consistently achievable with DMRs. What’s more, a headshot from this bolt-action sniper rifle doesn’t just take down the target, but also prevents them from being resuscitated. Furthermore, there’s a “killshot” modifier on these sniper rifles that guarantees a permanent demise for anyone hit in the head. If you can maintain your aim, this sniper rifle could prove to be highly rewarding.
M4A1 (Carbine)
No matter which playlist you select, the M4A1 carbine is available across all classes, making it a versatile choice. Over the years, this reliable weapon has become a mainstay in first-person shooter games, and Battlefield 6 is no different. The M4A1 boasts a high rate of fire, making it exceptionally effective in close combat situations. Yet, its damage output also allows for its use in mid-range skirmishes. However, the M4A1 does pack a punch, so managing its recoil will be crucial. To enhance its versatility, consider adding some attachments to your loadout.
PW7A2 (SMG)
For SMG enthusiasts playing the beta version of Battlefield 6, you’ll find two SMGs at your disposal. Both are quite efficient, but in close and medium-range firefights, I found the PW7A2 to be the most advantageous. Being in a situation where your weapon is barely sufficient can be risky, yet this particular SMG managed to extricate me from a few tight spots that another SMG likely wouldn’t have survived.
M87A1 (Shotgun)
To sum up, the M87A1 shotgun in Battlefield 6 is currently overpowering and problematic due to its one-shot kill capability at an unreasonable range. It’s so powerful that I’ve found myself astonished on several occasions while playing the game, witnessing enemies shooting me from seemingly impossible distances with this weapon. Remarkably fast in rechambering rounds, it makes quick work of clearing rooms and is a popular choice among Assault players during the reveal event. While Battlefield Studios have acknowledged its overpowered state and plan to balance it later, for now, enjoy using it excessively.
The open beta for Battlefield 6 starts this weekend and continues the following week for everyone. Early access to the game is already available, and it can be obtained using a special code.
